Shaboobie Boobarella of Pink Flamingo Burlesque was featured in an article in 24 Hours today. She was interviewed about the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, the Vancouver Burlesque scene, and Shaboobie's beginnings in burlesque.
Unfortunately, they got Shaboobie's name wrong. So wherever you read "Boobarelli" please read "Boobarella." Oh well, it's still good publicity for the festival, which by the way, starts tonight!
There is also an article in the Georgia Straight today, "Vancouver Burlesque Festival offers vampy, campy fun," which gives a good mention of Pink Flamingo Burlesque:
Purists will get a kick out of Saturday’s (May 2) Pink Flamingo Burlesque show, a throwback to the good ol' days of the craft and featuring a live band playing vintage jazz covers and cabaret numbers.
Shaboobie will also be interviewed on CBC radio later today at 4.50 pm.
